Stitching Update

Well here it is middle od September already and the weather is cooling down. I was shocked when the furnace kicked on early this morning.  I added an extra cover over the quilt when I went to bed -- I was cold.  The temp in the house was 62 degrees, a little chilly. Before you know it the leaves will be turning colors.  I love the crisp weather of Fall, the only bad thing is winter soon follows.  LOL

I have had my needles busy the last couple of weeks. I am trying to get my part of the RR for NCH finished so I can get it into the mail.  It is coming along nicely and should be on it's way in a couple of days. I love this one.
The Bird Table / Lanarte  / RR for NCH

I also added some more to the Dragonfly Hardanger that I pulled out of my UFO pile and it is doing well. I ran out of thread and had to make a trip to the LNS last week. I left there with my wallet a lot skinnier. LOL

I did a little more on Bubbles. It still fascinates me for some reason. LOL

Bubbles / Imaginating

And last but not least, I started part 3 of Confetti of Hardanger last night. A dratted frog was sitting on my shoulder and I couldn't get him to leave me alone.  So I frogged almost as much as I stitched. I had to put it away before I threw it in a corner. It seems I couldn't count to baste or stitch. But here is my offering so far. Maybe tomorrow will be a better stitching day.

Well, thank you for visiting, I love to hear your comments. take care and have a great day !!

A Quick Post

It is late again, as usual. LOL !! The last two days have not been good ones for me. I have been in quite a bit of pain from my back. Not sure what triggered it but I sure do wish it would settle down some and give me some ease. Oh well, such is life.

I did manage a little stitching though.  I finished a long lingering UFO with a few adjustments.  I started White Musings / TGOSM quite a while ago and shortened it a little changing some of the rows of stitches. It was originally too long for my wall space hence the need for adjustments. Here it is, not sure if I am going to do a white frame or make a wall hanging with it.

White Musings / TGOSM

I pulled out a Hardanger piece that I had started and added some more Kloster blocks to it. Maybe this one will get finished this year too. I am trying to whittle down my UFO pile and I am making a little progress. LOL
Dragonfly / Satin Stitches
Not a whole lot but every little bit counts. I may end up frogging as I have been stitching with pain meds the last couple of days. They sometimes make my mind a little muzzy. LOL We will see.

Thanks for the visit and have a great day.

Late Night

Well here I am again and it is 2:30 AM, I am a night owl in case no one has figured that out yet. LOL The weather has been nice the last few days and the nights are wonderful to sleep, down in the 50s and 60's. I could stand this weather all year but I know that it won't happen.LOL

I have been stitching away and have finished my Told In A Garden Angel as well as part 2 of the Confetti of Stitches.

1999 Angel freebir TIAG Completed

Part 2 Confetti of Stitches / The Stitch Specialist's SAL

I am going to do another of the freebie Angels as they are so lovely. Not sure which one yet, but definitely one of them. I have the Fairy Grandmother kitted up but I don't like the fabric that I originally choose so I will be getting some other and them starting that one. I am also waiting for the next part of Confetti of stitches. I can't wait to see what will come next. I am really loving this one. I am doing it on 26 ct Edelweiss which is 100% cotton, what a nice fabric it is to work on. It is great got Hardanger.

I am going to go for tonight, so you have a great day and take care. Thanks for stopping by.

August and Cooler

At last we are having nice weather. The days have been in the 80's and the nights in the 60's, great sleeping weather and hardly any humidity. DH has an easier time brerathing in this cooler weather. So he has been feeling better.

I have been stitching more these days and playing on the computer less. LOL  It is amazing how much more you can accomplish when you are away from the computer. I finished Serendipity by Papillon and I am trying to decide if I am going to frame it or make it into a pillow.
Serendipity by Papillon creations

I also finished a small design for my neighbor she is having such a hard time. It is by Ever So Little Designs. I chose this one as she has a Tabby cat that is a joy. I am not usually a cat person but Angel is a different story. She considers me Mom # 2. LOL I am sure my neighbor will be pleased.

Ever So Little Designs #26 Cat

I found a black frame that will look good with it -- now to get it framed. LOL

As I am sure all of you are aware by now, Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum of Lavendar and Lace Desighns has passed away this last week. I am in the Yahoo Group called Marilyn's Gardena and everyone is stitching something in her honor. I had one of her freebie angels started and picked that up again and there is another one already kitted up. Here is a picture of my progress so far.

TIAG freebie 1999

On a recent visit to my LNS this design by Imaginating caught my eye. I don't usually do a lot of geometrics but for some reason this one struck  my fancy. I am almost halfway finished with it. It is an easy piece to get lost in. As my mind can wander at times this is a good thing. LOL

Bubbles by Imaginating

I am also getting ready to start a Hardanger SAL for the Yahoo group Stitch Specialists. Here is my fabric and thread choices.

So as I said I have been keeping my hands busy. I hope all of you are having a wondeful day. Thanks for stopping by.

Middle of July Already

Here I am again. Let's hope blogger doesn't mess up my post again.

Stitching wise, I finished Vierlanden Susanne / Wiehenburg. I really enjoyed this one, not sure why it went to the way side so long ago. But I is finished now.

Vierlanden Susanne / Wiehenburg

I also pulled Papillon's Serendipity out again and moving along with that one. I should have another finish by the end of the month. It sure feels good to see some of these completed.

Serendipity / Papillon Creations

Wednesday was a good day, Duggy and I met for the day again. I always enjoy her company. We compared our stitching, caught up on family gossip and just visited with no men around. It felt good. We stopped at 99 for a late lunch as we usually do, and was in there for two hours. LOL  I thought they would eventually throw us out but I guess they know us by now as that is our usual stop. We had such a pleasant day, I was sad to see it end.

Duggy and I outside of Michaels

I made it home around 9 PM and was tired but pleasantly so. I did manage to stitch a little before I fell asleep in my chair.

Thank you again for stopping by, and have a wonderful day !!!

July Already !!!

Well, here it is another month that has gone buy. As I have said in the past -- time does fly !!
I had DH at the ER again a couple of weeks ago. He had a coughing fit and fractured a rib -- again !! He has done this in the past - quite a while ago but it happened again. He is doing better now but was in a great deal of pain for a while. We mostly stay home with the heat as it tends to bother him. We had a very quiet fourth of July. I took DH out to dinner on the 2nd as it was his birthday -- 72 years old. I teased him and called him "my little old man " LOL  he didn't see the humor. But even though he would never admit it, I know he enjoys the teasing.

As far a s stitching, I have tried to keep busy. WIP's have been my main focus as well as the stitching I needed to do for RR and exchanges. I did finish The Mighty Oak and now just need to decide how to frame it. Vierlanden Susanne by Wiehenburg resurfaced and I am proud to say that it only need one more medallion and it is finished also. The birth record that I started for my friends granddaughter is also finished and waiting to get framed. I window paned a stitched piece on a tote bag for my partner in the Summer Exchange for Needlecraft Haven and since she has received it I can post a picture, as well as the lovely little pillow that I received from my partner. Now I need to get busy on the next RR mailing, it is one of Margaret Sherry's Calendar Cats. I will post a pic when I have something to show. Here are the pictures --

Hello !!

Well, here I am again, it seems like my daily doings are turning into monthly doings !! LOL My old lament continues, I don't know where the time goes. It sure goes by fast. Life around here is about the same, DH has been feeling better now that he has lost some of the extra fluid. Our weather has been crazy as usual. It has been getting so cold that some nights the furnace comes on, like I said -- crazy. We had a hot weather snap at the begining of the month and of course our air conditioner decided that was the time to die. Sigh !! As soon as we bought a new one the temperatures dropped - go figure !?! The air conditioner in the car also decided to die, so we are now waiting for a hose that had to be special ordered. As if that is not enough, my washing machine de died to get into the act also. The agitator is not working properly, so I guess I will need to call the repairman for that. I used to be able to fix most things, but after all the surgeries that I have had on my hand, I don't have the strength that I used to have. As far as stitching, it has been slow going. I did manage to finish a small angel for a friend's granddaughter. I just need to frame it. I am on my iPad right now, so I will add a picture when I get on the computer. Thanks for visiting and have a gear day !!

Wednesday Night !!

What a day !!!  DH hs not been feeling well the last couple of days. Last night he was up and down all night having trouble breathing. We ended up at the emergency room today  (6 hours) because of it. He was having problems with Congested Heart Failure again. They wanted to admit him but he said that he wanted to go home and had me if he needed anything. They increased his water pills and told us to call his Cardiologist in the morning.  I fear he will go into Renal Failure with all the diuretics but only time will tell.  After we got home I got a phone call telling me that another family member was swallowed by Cancer
My Uncle died at 2 PM holding his wifes hand withhis daughter by his side.  He has been valiently fighting for the last year and lost the battle today. God Speed Uncle Don !!

Thanks for the visit and have a great day !!!

May Already !!

Well another month has swiftly passed me by. I didn't even see it go. April was eventful in many ways.  I turned 65 on the 3rd, that is hard to believe.  I received many well wishes from online friends and I thank everyone of you. Your comments brightened my day.  I even got to spend the day with my favorite person, my Aunt.  She is a very special lady to say the least. We spent the day chatting about stitching, family and life. What a joy !!  She even treated me to lunch at The 99 Restaurant. Here is a picture of us at the restaurant

How do you like that "HUGE" dessert that we shared. It was delicious. What a wonderful day !!!

When I got home I had some sad news though, my brother-in-law lost his battle with cancer and died that morning. He was 79 years old. My sister and he were married for 57 years.  They are not having a funeral now but will have a memorial service in Colorado for him as that was his special place.  He will definitely be missed.  He had a kind and generous nature and a wonderful smile.  Miss you Bill !!

DH had an infection again and was on prednisone and antibiotics for acute bronchitis.  He is feeling better now but each time he gets sick it takes so much out of him. As I've said before, we just go day by day and thank God for each one.

As far as stitching, I have been plugging along.  I finally managed to finish the Polstitch / Joan Elliott SAL from facebook. It was one of Joan's small angels and she was a joy to stitch. The beads and sparkles don't show up in the picture but she does sparkle.

I stitched her on 28 ct opalescent Lugana.  I think she is lovely and will be a Christmas gift for my good friend and neighbor.

I finishes a sampler that I started a while ago,  It is from a really old magazine from my stash.  I actually had forgotten that I had torn it out and put it away.  But when I found it , it called to me.  I love the simple look of it. My husband was laughing at me when I finished it as I signed it "DE" instead of "DS".  Heaven only knows why I signed it with my maiden name.  I haven't used it in ages.  LOL  But it turned out pretty even with only two colors.

I managed to get most of The Mighty Oak Sampler / Sticklounge SAL done and am now working on the last two part for another finish.

Another Hardanger piece was picked up and finished also.  it is a small ornie that just needed the beading put on it.  Now all I need to do is trim around it, line it and then make it into an ornie for another finish.

PHEW !!!  I told you I have been busy.  LOL  Now let's see if I can be as productive this month as I was last month.   hee hee !!

Well another long post is at an end. I want to thank you for visiting and hope you have a wonderful day.
       Take care.

Late Night

I tend to be a night owl, I guess that is from so many years working 2nd and 3rd shifts.  Oh well, I like the quiet of the night.  I have a little more stitching for you this time.  I joined the Nordic Needle Monthly Hardanger Onament Club.  The ornies are lovely and a joy to stitch.  I have three completed and I am working on another one.  I am also working on a Polstitch/Joan Elliott SAL on facebook.  I love Joan Elliott's designs. And this is a lovely small angel. I am about halfway finished with her. I love how the colors are coming together.  The picture doesn't show it but I am working her on opalescent Lugana.  I love the sparkle.  The chart has three other angels that I hope to stitch also. Here is my offerings.

Stitching

I can finally post pics of my stitching. I can't believe how much I missed this blog.  Anyway. Here is a pic of a piece I am doing with the sticklounge.  It is called the Mighty Oak. A fun stitch.  I have part 2 finished and I am waiting for the next part to arrive. I still need to retake pics of my other stitching that was lost with the computer crash.

Blogspot has finally fixed the problem and I will be posting again .  My computer crashed this past week.  What a mess.  I lost a lot of files and am slowly trying to get them back. All of my pictures went to the way side.  So I will post some stitching news after I retake them again.  I am so happy to be able to connect with my efriends again.  Take care and have a great day !!!
