Life with COVID

Well here it is the middle of August already. Where has the time flown to ?? Daily living continues to be frantic. Everywhere you go you see people hurrying along with a face mask as they do there daily chores. We are both well. Our outings are walks with the dog and occasional rides to the park ( as long as it is not crowded) to let the dog have some exercise and us as well.

We walk with her each night in our neighborhood and try to keep our distance. This seems to be the new normal. Will it ever end ?? sigh !! I have made many masks for family and friends and others in need over the past several months.

My biggest accomplishment was a quilt for my favorite Aunt. She loves Betty Boop and I found fabric for her. The quilt came out well considering I am pretty much a novice quilter. She loved it when I gifted her with it.

Other than that I have been doing a lot of cooking what with all the fresh vegetables from our friends garden. My freezer is full of goodies.

Well I will leave you for now and hope you and yours are staying safe and well. Take care and thank you for stopping by.

Hello Everyone !!

It has been quite a while since my last post and a lot has changed. As most of you know I lost my husband in July, 2014 and figured that was it for me in the romance department, boy was I wrong. I volunteered to help a new neighbor with his eye drops after his cataract surgery and we really got on well together. I was not interested at that time but he was, and he chased me down and changed my mind. He is a wonderful and kind man and a romantic at heart. Who new that I would find romance at 70 !! We have now been married for two and a half years and I couldn’t be happier. We do everything together. And I am now a dog mom !! John has two Papillons when we married. Fancy is in the picture with us.

On the stitching front, things have been slow, we are never home and I have started to learn the ins and outs of quilting. I have been sewing for well over sixty years but never a quilter. I have to say I am enjoying it very much. I still do my needlework also, that will always be my first love. Here are a couple of my quilts.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these trying times of ours. Our state is not in lock down but they are closing all non-essential businesses and advising everyone to stay home. John and I are both in our 70s but thankfully we are both pretty healthy, so we just keep our fingers crossed and pray for ourselves and everyone else.
Take care everyone , be safe and God bless !!
Thanks for stopping by !!
